On Friday the 27th February 2015, a few of our regular cyclo-cross riders enjoyed the pleasure of an evening with fellow Central CXL winners, where their respective successes of the 2014/15 season were celebrated! Caitlin Loveless, Elsa Kristiansson and Astrid Spragg all attended the prize-giving and were congratulated by Mac on their respective achievements. Here’s what they had to say about the season…
“I was really pleased Slipstreamers came 1st and 2nd it was nice to win another medal. I liked the central league and really enjoyed Cyclocross. It’s muddy and tiring but I like that. |
“Cyclocross is a fun, rewarding sport. Even if you don’t win, if you try your best you get a prize. This year was an ordinary year but we did cyclocross so it wasn’t so ordinary for us. We met friends and had lots of fun in a competitive way. You should try it out too!!!” |
“I’m Elsa Kristiansson, I’m 15, and came 2nd U16 girl in the Central League for cyclocross. I really enjoyed the cyclocross season: It was fun, and at times challenging, but if I’m honest, cyclocross is more fun when it’s challenging. I have learnt so much more skills, and I have got much stronger. The courses vary, from all grass to in a forest to in a school playing field. But that’s the beauty of it, you never know what to expect. Before this cyclocross season, I had never won anything before, and even though I didn’t win all the races, I still got points for turning up. You have to be in the race to win the race.”” |
