ppvFancy a bit of mountain biking XC in an open and friendly environment? Would you like to join fellow mountain bikers at a course that is designed for maximum fun and isn’t overly technical?

Well, our friends over at Palmer Park Velo are hosting their annual MTB Club Champs race over at Hammonds Farm in Checkendon on Saturday 17 October, and have invited Slipstreamers to join the fun; along with Summit MTB Club and Zappi’s Arrows. If you’re keen to get in a practice run before our own MTB Club Champs in November, this is a great opportunity to do so!

PPV have acquired permission to use the Banjo Cycles XC Rampage course, which will be fully taped and marked out from the weekend before’s series races. There is a shorter course for younger riders and a longer one for older ones, does not contain any climbs, and is a nice mix of single track and open fields. Any technical parts have A and B lines (harder but quicker, or easier but slower) to suit different skill levels. If you want to know more about the course, do talk to Mudslingers who have raced there before, including Seth K, Nathan G, Rizwan H, George F, Archie F, Alex U, Ben C, Lucy A and Katie A – they’ll be sure to tell you all about how much fun it is!

Race times are to be confirmed, but should start around 10am and be finished by lunchtime – full event details will follow from the organising team at PPV, so keep an eye out on Twitter and the News Hub.

The cost to enter is £2 for U8s and below, and if you are U10 and older, this will be £4 – this will cover the venue hire. If you’d like to participate, all you need to do is pre-register by clicking here for the online entry form and bring along your payment on the day. Entries will close on Saturday 10 October and there is no entry on the day.

We highly encourage as many Slipstreamers as possible to sign up! If you aren’t sure, have questions, or first want to find out more, do talk to Dave George or Asti.
