We’ve talked about it for a while now, and it’s almost here… Hillingdon Slipstreamers and Palmer Park Velo have decided to hold an inter-club circuit race, giving members of both clubs a chance to race and have fun together! This will take place at the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit on Saturday afternoon, 27th June, directly after the regular Slipsteamers training session. It promises to be a fun afternoon with exciting races, podium prizes and the all important club competition! Read on to find out more…
Race Entry & Registration…
Pre-register by visiting the online form here – make sure you select the correct club and double check your email address before you submit the form. You will also be able to register on the day, so don’t worry if you forget to do so beforehand. If you’ve not raced before, it’s a great opportunity to give it a go, and indeed, we’d encourage all Slipstreamers to do this as practice for our upcoming circuit Club Champs later in the year. Read all about Lia’s first race experience and how much fun it is! Oh, and of course, the more Slipstreamers, the more chance of us nabbing the Club Trophy! Go on… you know you want to!
This is an Interclub event – a competition between two or more clubs. You do not need a race license to take part, and the emphasis is on enjoying a little healthy competition. PPV have arranged this event, and as such we are their guests – but it is also our home venue. Please do come along and join in – and show the visitors how friendly we are here at Slipstreamers.
Race Fee…
This will be £3 – please bring this along to sign-on.
Gear Checks…
You should know this by now, but if you don’t read our guide to gear ratios here. Please ensure your bike is in the correct gear for your age category as you will be gear checked. The top 3 of each race, as well as a few selected riders, will also be checked immediately after each race at the apron.
Getting Ready…
All riders should report to the start line in plenty of time before their race, so racing is not held up. We have a tight schedule and want to run the races to time. Please listen carefully to the race instructions, and do ensure you line up with your age group as instructed by the starter. Usual rules and race etiquette apply!
Races Running Order – PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF YOUR TIME SLOTS…
Timings are listed below, with races for every age category from U8 upwards. All races will start from the apron as usual and be in a clockwise direction. Please do not enter the circuit whilst a race is on, and wait to be called at the clubhouse.

Numbers…
Please have your numbers pinned to the right of your jersey. Here’s a great example of good number positioning!
Prizegiving…
There will be a podium presentation for the top 3 boys and top 3 girls in each age category per race, as well as an overall club prize. Remember, as this is an inter-club competition, even if you don’t win a race you are still contributing to your club’s overall position. So if you haven’t yet registered – do!
Finally…
None of this can happen without a team of willing Parent Volunteers, so if you would like to help us make sure the day is a success, please make yourself known – we still need a few marshalls, runners, tea helpers, and so on.
It promises to be an amazing day in the sunshine – so remember the suncream, read our pre-cycling race or training safety reminders and have a great afternoon’s racing!
