Yes indeed! On the 6th June 2015, the Hillingdon round of the National Youth Circuit Series comes to town…
Have You Entered Yet?
This is always a great day and a chance for riders to compete against the best in the country – and if you’ve never raced at this level, why not give it a go on your home circuit? There is no normal session on this day, as it’s all hands on deck, so if you dread the thought of not getting your weekly Slipstreamers fix, we highly recommend giving it a go!
Entries are open on the BC website and close on the 17th May, so if you haven’t signed up yet do so soon. You can also access the bookings via the Slipstreamers Calendar page here.
Making it all Happen!
Now of course, major events such as this don’t simply happen without the efforts of the people behind the scenes who organise it all, and a lot of operational planning and logistics goes into getting things done and functioning smoothly on the day! We all know that there is a great team of volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the club running, put on races such as the new Youth Summer Series, and of course to ensure the Nationals this year are a great success.
So Members (not racing), Parents, Friends, Young Volunteers – we need you! Specifically:
- Marshalls for some of the races. You don’t need to be available all day or do all of the races, just let us know when you are able to help and we’ll slot you in.
- Car Park Attendants to keep the parking lot under control and guide riders/ spectators to the overflow parking and alternative entrance to the field.
- Runners to ferry race results between the judges hut and admin team, and help with any odd jobs as they come up.
- BBQ Chef/s to look after the barbecue and ensure people are getting fed as required.
- Catering Helpers to help with making hot drinks and assisting the catering team as required.
- And anything else that comes up at the time!
If you’d like to volunteer for any of the above roles, or even just be a general helper, please email or talk to us and we’ll ensure you are assigned to the right person for further details.
Even just an hour or two of your time will make a difference, and will help us ensure the Nationals this year runs without a hitch once more and is the best one yet!
