It’s not easy getting onto a discipline specific RSR – you have to work really hard to meet the performance criteria, and demonstrate you “have what it takes” before you are even considered for invitation. We are very pleased that the most recent Circuit RSR on Monday the 16th February was attended by one of our riders, Zoe Brookes.

Enjoy the following report by Zoe of her first Circuit RSR:

Zoe in action!

“On Monday I was lucky enough to attend my first circuit Regional School of Racing (RSR). I have been training really hard recently and so it was really nice to get to go.

I was excited about going but very nervous as well. However, once I arrived Monday morning I stopped worrying- I wasn’t the only one feeling like that and I found other girls to talk to straight away.

The day itself was very well run and I learnt a lot. In the morning we did bunch work which was fun and really improved my confidence. For the second part of the session we did cornering around a tight crit course- again I think it really improved my technique. Unfortunately, it rained quite a lot in the afternoon and I got soaked!

We also did 2 workshops- an anti-doping one which I found very interesting and a bike wash. My dad was pleased  as I came back with a clean bike for once!

The whole day was a great experience and I would love to go again if I got the chance.”

Well done Zoe, and thank you for sharing your experience with us.
