Now that your February Time Trial practice is out of the way, we can switch the focus back onto advanced technique and performance training.
Remember to sign-on early, as close to 8am as you can get. You will need to be warmed up and ready to go at 8:30. Remember – good etiquette says you should be ready to go at 8:25 and complaining if either Ralph or Dave aren’t there to get you started!
To start off with, we will run through some core stability and pedal technique drills – which shall cover the first 20 minutes. This will be tough for those who have not done it before, but beneficial to all. We’ll brief you with the details on the day.
The last part of the session will be a two group chain-gang. The two groups shall start with a short interval between them. Each chain-gang shall be riding progressively faster. Every rider shall be encouraged to “stay in” until the pace becomes too much, at which point they shall drop back to the next group, or start to form smaller groups. No rider shall be on their own for long, but shall push their own limits to work within a group.
We will then take time for a session debrief, a quick break – and get yourself ready for the main session. Remember to bring additional food, drink and clothing – just in case.
Should the weather be really unkind, we may be back in the classroom and on turbos – so please be prepared for every eventuality.
